Thought this would be of benefit to our members here who care about the condition of their motor. Can also be used quickly to check the condition of a motor on a bike that you might be considering purchasing.
Items that I have been aquired to make this tool:
5' of 3/16" hose (Advance Auto)
1 3/16" Tee (Advance Auto)
1 1 3/4" Expansion Plug (Advance Auto Fits My 125)
1 2 1/4" Expansion Plug (Napa Fits My 250 & 500) (Had to order due in next week)
1 Low Pressure Gauge (It was my Dads Circa 1960, Available thru most tool dealers)
1 Custom intake Plug with 3/16" Nipple(Courtesy of our own Larry W. / Thanks Again!!!)
This will allow you to "Pressure Test" your motor (Low pressure only guys / 7 lbs & no more)
After speaking with Larry (HE is OLDER than Me
) he communicated the benefit of a "Vacuum Test" on the motor due to the "Pressure Test" can sometimes help apply pressure on the sealing lip and help the seal to seal.
This tool is even easier:
1 Mighty Vac Pump (has its own gauge)
2' 3/16" Hose
1 Custom intake Plug with 3/16 " barbed Nipple (Using the same Plug Larry Made)
1 Expansion Plug (to fit your size exhaust port)
These parts are quite affordable for the average joe like me to obtain, and will be used to obtain priceless info about the condition of a motor.
Hope this Info helps & Thanks Again Larry!
