'86 Manifold
« on: November 23, 2011, 12:03:31 AM »
My manifold is dry-rotted and leaks.
Can an '88+ RAD valve (any big benefit..?) be modified to fit or just get an OEM replacement..?

87+ are angled to clear the updated shock placement. It would take some modification to multiple parts to get it to fit and seal properly. 85-86 are straight. 85 has boost bottle and 4 bolts that hold it on the cylinder and 86 doesn't and has 6 bolts. Pretty much stuck with finding an 86 manifold on ebay or having JFab make you an aluminum one.

Hope this helps
It's hard to keep a drivers license riding a 2 stroke dirt bike on the street.  If you drive within the law they are VERY boring.

Strangely enough I asked jfab about this (new 86 manifold in ally) a couple of weeks back. Will let you know what he says.otherwise, ebay or liquid rubber.K.
And lo, I did loft the front wheel and carried it forth to the unbelievers, and cast it down before them and said unto them ''look now upon the might of my throttle control ye pitiful cretinous ones''
And the unbelievers did quake in their boots....
