fuel gauge

Hi!

I built myself this fuel gauge:



The fuel level in the hose is, of course, the same as the level in the tank.
It works really good.

Do you think that?s a good idea, or just too dangerous, when crashing e.g.?
(Sure i?ll fix the hoses at the connections...)

I like that idea.
Do you have a check valve where the two pieces of hose connect toward the top of the triple clamp?

I?ve got one check valve at the tank cap, and one on top of the gauge hose, near the steering stem.

Great idea! Shouldn't cause any issues during a crash. Check valve is in good spot too. Good job.

One issue I can see....

What is in the end of the line that goes into the steering stem?

If there is nothing and it runs low enough..   there is a chance you could start a siphon and drain the tank...

besides that... it is something that can strand you on the trail if you tear it off in a crash..

The hose-end in the steering stem is not even as low (or much lower) as the fuel level when the tank is full, so this shouldn?t be a problem.
