broken kickstarter
« on: October 02, 2011, 05:39:17 AM »
well it finally happened....after reading several posts over the last few months about kickstarters breaking, mine broke today.I knew it was gonna too.I stalled it after coming around a tight corner in a trail because of a huge tree branch down,I was in second gear when I kicked it the first time, and it just did'nt feel right going through the stroke...and I said to myself,"it's gonna break"...sure enough, next kick it broke.Luckily I was near a good downslope and jumped it and got home.
I read on here awhile back that Midwest Action Cycle had good deals on O.E.M. kicker assemblys, and yes they do.For me to go to my local Kawie dealer,it would cost me $103.15 plus tax....I just ordered one from Midwest Action for $87.68....it's the same part number as my local Kawie dealer #13064-1201.I had to pay $11.95 for shipping, but I still paid under $100.00 with total cost at $99.63...a $15.47 savings and I don't even have to go anywhere!
Excuse me, ma'am...but you've got extremely nice legs!!!...what time do they open???                                                                                                               https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n8tCgN3aryQ

hopefully the updated kicker is as strong as it looks compared to the old ones.

I just broke mine today too.  Luckily I had an extra at home so I still got to ride.

hey.. ya know what i was thinking? why would they make my 250 lever stronger at the same time as the 500?
***i think*** the 89 kx250 and the kx500 kick levers are exact same BUT not the pedal boss.
so if they stop making the pedal and boss as one piece for my 250, then i can buy a 500 kicker and put the lever onto the old boss. make sense?

I agree with you 1989...that's what I wanted to do...but "oh nooooooo, you have to buy the boss AND kicker,or the whole set from Kawasaki".So I ended up buying the whole set,and I'm actually really glad I did. It's so nice having a tight rattle free kicker.I did have to take the new one apart and put a little grease in it.I ride at Southwick a couple times a month and have to take it apart every time after that too cause the sand there is like mortar and drives itself into everything!!
