wire color matching?
« on: August 20, 2011, 02:37:40 PM »
I just got my new CDI today for my 1985 kx500. The male ends that go into the female ends to the stator dont match in colors so im having a difficult time figuring this out.

The CDI has the following colors: Red/Black Male,  Solid Red Male,  Red/White Male,  Black/Yellow Male,  Black/White Female,  Solid Black Female......

The Stator Wires are the following colors: Black/Yellow Female,  Red/White Female,  Green/White Female,  Black/White Male,  Solid Black Male.

sounds like maybe your stator has been changed. do you have a clymers manual? it has all the schematics  for all years. if no one else gives an answer i will look at mine after work and give you some help.

The stator wires match an '87 from what I can see in the clymer (as turdle stated they're all there)
The CDI does match the '85.
I'll copy the two pages in my photobucket this afternoon. (Cali Time)

I'm sorry outlaw my scanner is not working, I've been trying for several hrs.
I can copy and send snail mail if no one else can help... Sorry ...
