Found these cool pics of the what I think was a project that Dave Chase at Pro Circuit put together. I think Destry Abbott rode it in the 1999 Elsinore GP.

I called Dave on this a few years back. He never went into production as the cost was too high. It is shame, that is one sweet ride. I have also heard that Destry didn;t feel it was a major improvement. Maybe we should ask Destry this.

If I remember right he did like the bike a lot,it was Kawasaki that wanted him to ride the stock looking KX500 (better for sales Id guess)!

It's cool to see those photos. Dave built that bike for me as a project bike. It was a lot of fun to ride but they didn't really want me racing it. The bike is down in Mexico, hopefully having fun on the trails (it wasn't stolen). I sold it a couple of years ago. Now looking back, I think I should've kept it. There was a lot of work put into it, with some trick parts.

Best Wishes,
Destry

DestryAbbot,

The tricks you say were? :?
I see the same as everyone the kx250 setup. 8)
But what about the pipe?
Is it a rerouted "standard" PC-pipe or a works "only one" pipe?
I run a PC-pipe on my (70hp) iceracer and I think that pipe need a "ported cylinder" to do it`s best
and with high exhaust duration.
What about the powerband for that bike with that pipe?

By the way,you have a very nice website too. :D

Do anyone use gasoline tank from kx250 of 1989?
It`s make a "he.." of different for the pressure on the frontwheel in turns.
That together with a high seat.
I will post some pic`s later with my setup.
Iceroad champion 2006,still 2007,even 2008 without a single race!

I can tell you the pipe was made for the bike (Dave Chase works at PC) it runs under the shock reservoir because it has a 250 sub-frame,air box, side panels.
