two part clutch cover , or after market clutch casing

does anyone know of anywhere who stock 2 part clutch covers or aftermarket clutch casings for 97 kx500?

Nobody makes a 2 pc cover for the KX500, they are totally unnecessary for your average used KX500 (unlike a heavily raced 125 or 250).  However if you do some searching under KX500 guru member "doordie" you will find some posts on his custom made 2 pc cover setup, it was very cool...

I'm just about positive that the Team Green MX race bikes came with a factory magnesium 2 pc clutch cover, but they don't call it "unobtanium" for nothing....      Motorrad is the factory race engine guru he might chime in with the hard facts...

My Team Green KX500 didn't have the two piece clutch cover when I got it, but here is a picture of the one Team Green fabricated for Destry Abbott's bike. Like like it's an OEM part!

Very interesting, looks like he had the same issue I had when I first made mine, brake hits the cover as well as the return spring. Note where the return spring is on mine, that seems to be a popular mod now. As Polar said there really isn't much of a need to have one unless your are using it in competition. If you maintain your 500 properly and use quality parts they rarely fail.
