Tick Tock, Tick Tock. Winding down to "Go" time! There will be a bunch of us living vicariously through you. Hope the trip is boring mechanical wise.

News said "heavy snow" in idaho over weekend... can anyone confirm this?

May push "launch date" out a few weeks..   (as is. still watching snow on pass's)..   looking more like mid to late june than June 4... (snow is the clock)..

also decided to put in a 14Er..     either Pikes peak, or Mt Evans..

also going do re-route to Mosquito pass... the Highest Motorized drivable pass in colorado... (dirt). hits 13185Ft

It did snow in Idaho, I went for a couple rides with the wife over the holiday.

This is about 8700ft and was plowed out by a Ranch for earlier access.

Wolf tracks all over the place in the snow,,,kinda cool to see.

I PMd you.

I am afraid it is a no go on remembering the bed and breakfast up in Canada. Sorry about that. It was quite a while ago. Best of luck on the trip!

You are going to love going up over the boulder, especially if you make it through some of the hells back bone stuff. beautiful area.

& yes there still a bit of snow, even here, on the north side's @ about 10,000 & up. Getting hot though like 90 yesterday & it'll come down quick

That trail 90 really brings back the memories, my Grandpa had a 16x16 square milk crate on the back of his he would put me in & take me for rides. Big thanks to him for getting me hooked early on.
if I only had a pair, I could actually ride this thing

Ah yes! The little step through Honda's! My first major motorcycle modification when I was a kid was taking my Honda 55 trail cylinder off, put it on our lathe and boring it out to put a bigger piston in it. Made it 65cc if I remember correctly. Hauled a$$! Gave seven of them ranging from 50cc to 90cc to my brother about 20 years ago. Three were parts bikes. His wife was pissed!
You prepare and prepare and have jitters. Right up until you get on the road. Then you just settle down and deal with whatever comes along. I hope the support you have on this site serves you well if there are any issues. Two wheels down!

Sure! I took a trip from Seattle, Washington down through Utah and Arizona and back on a XS650 Yamaha. Had SUITCASES strapped on the sides and one on the sissy bar. Mismatched no less! Could not look as bad as that did! Always fun to see creative packing.

here is a packing thing for ya danger.

air filters..   hate dealing with them on the road. (clean/oil)   so I carry extras, as they pack down well...   (also picky about what brand filter, and oil I use... yea, I know.. me picky?)

Pre-oiled,  and greased.    just drop in a paper towel, roll up. and stuff in ziplock bag, stand on it to get air out... whala.. (double bag them!!   learned that the hard way once)

Excellent idea.  Other than street bikes I haven't gone on any cross country rides so air filters haven't been a problem.  Back when we went to the dunes all the time I used this setup for my quad.  I always had the convenience of a enclosed trailer to work on the bikes/quads.

When washing this keeps the crud from getting inside.

Most of the DualSport crowd I ride with are good about keeping air filters cleaned.
But NONE of them think about filtering the air THEY breathe.  I can get a new bike if I don't keep the air filter clean, lungs are a bit harder to acquire.  I always carry with me, 3M N95 Particulate Respirators part # 8511 , even on my street bike.  Most times I'm ride leader with my group.  Not that I'm the best at leading, I run dual GPS units.  Zumo550 and 76CSx both Garmin products.  Like NASCAR if your rider leader you breath clean air.  I'm not the fastest rider and no one wants to be in the back all the time, so we swap positions. I just tell the new guy to just stop at the next intersection.

Your not the only one who doesnt like to choke down dust Danger. I found a product review over on Banned for a wolfsnout, looks like it'd be alot better than a particle mask.

Aint used one but it has great reviews

This is what I carry in the Camel Bac.
Titanium wrenches and yes I got the optional 13mm in case I get a new dream bike.

KTM 500EXC   http://www.ktm.com/us/enduro/500excusa.html

I'm hoping the aftermarket will come up with a gas tank with some range.

Looks like T minus 9 days, like being a little kid waiting on Christmas.
