flip that basket over and count the teeth on the ring gear and measure the OD and count the small gear and measure the bore of the small gear.

Ring gear= 66teeth
Small gear= 17 teeth
Small gear bore = 31.9mm
Ring gear= 151mm

Just got off the phone with hinson they said that H082 is the kx500 basket and they don't make them anymore but some are out there floating around so if you can get one grab it but hinson said that is the part number for the kx500 082 I ordered one today.

In the sales meeting on wednesday he is going to try and get a run of k5 baskets made though and will call me back wednesday evening to tell me how it went.
Just an old guy that enjoys going fast, I was in the army for 6 years and bought my first K5 when I returned from basic training. I raced a yz60 from age 6 to 8  a kx80 from 8 to 12  a kx125 from 12-17 intermediate class on k5 which I've owned 3.

Good idea 89 kaw and just so everyone knows that the 90-91 250 part is the kx500 part so there are quite a few of them out there from ebay and I ordered mine from

http://shop.andersracing.net/Kawasaki-KX250-Hinson-Clutch-Basket-90-91-KLA31-082.htm

$208 shipped to my door and once again hinson told me that it is the kx500 basket and they are available on many different sites.

Don't give up yet kaw rider the manager at hinson told me they just started making the CR250 basket, inner hub, and pressure plate due to demand he said 2 strokes are making a comeback and they have noticed that comeback due to 4 chokes breaking everyone but the factory teams.

personally i havent used a aftermarket basket for a long time. Yeah but a cr250 clutch will also work on a cr 500 too and honda didnt change there clutch over a long period of time. Are they going to make the inner hub and pressue plate too.

Just ordered one.
I guess we'll find out soon enough.
Worst case I'll flog it on FeeBay.
The four stroke engine: That's one stroke for producing power and three for wearing the engine out.

Hinson said they are making the whole nine yards for the cr250 pressure plate and inner hub and basket.

Links to get 90-91 KX250 billet basket made by hinson and hinson verified that it is the KX500 basket too same part number according to their sales manager.

http://shop.andersracing.net/Kawasaki-KX250-Hinson-Clutch-Basket-90-91-KLA31-082.htm

http://rpmmfg.com/clutch.aspx

Only 2 places that have them in stock so far if anyone else finds more links post away and the anders is the cheapest thanks for that link blaster :)

I just spoke with hinson again and once again the manager verified the 90-91 KX250 basket is identical in every way to the KX500 basket it's the same specs too per hinson.

of course, there is another option but as i often feel im talking to myself im not gonnma waste my energy.good luck.
And lo, I did loft the front wheel and carried it forth to the unbelievers, and cast it down before them and said unto them ''look now upon the might of my throttle control ye pitiful cretinous ones''
And the unbelievers did quake in their boots....
