Gasket Sealant???
« on: January 13, 2011, 11:20:38 AM »
Just purchased an 02 KX 250 2 months ago and have only had the opportunity to ride it once.
After I got the machine back home I noticed the sight lens was foggy(I had just put in new ATF).
Drain the trans and it was milky.
Pull off the side cover and i notice this grey sealant or something very adhesive on the gasket and cases.
Is this normal or factory? Or has the PO playing at being a hack mechanic?
Needless to say I'm alittle curious now as to what else I will find. The water pump seals are gone and the shaft is snookered up (which I will be replacing) I also noticed extreme grooving on the clutch basket and a crack on the hub.
Other than that the bike ran strong. I had so much fun I my first ride I had commented to my wife that a man over 50 should not be allowed to have that much fun!!!! :-D
