Not Yet! I have the engine cases back but am waiting for some new gears. There is something VERY special being fabricated as we speak. Dont worry as soon as it takes shape I'll post it up!

I am new to this site, but not to the 1989 KX.  I had a 89 KX250 years ago and recently picked up a 89 KX500 that has been well used.  Looking forward to your writeup.  Great job!!

Hi Guys,
To anyone thats looking for progress, there aint none! :?
Still waiting for the new gears to arrive. Also when I stripped the 46mm right side up forks one leg was beyond repair. Replacements have arrived and the rest of the motor is all ready to assemble. Theres also been a delay on the new swingarm. I'm hoping to get everything complete before Roadrace season starts in March as I wont have any time at all then.

Hi Guys,

I've been away for a while. Sadly I highsided my Fireblade at Cadwell park race cicuit and sustained a shattered pelvis and hip back in June. Hospitalised for over 3 Months. Docs said I wouldnt be walking for at least six months but thankfully now way ahead of schedule with the recovery. More importantly I can now continue with this project! Watch this space! :-D

Will, sorry to hear about the spill at the road races, i hope your on the mend. ( I wondered why i didnt see the bike at Farleigh). The bike looks great, its come a long way since i sold it to you! I am also building 2 kx500 `89s that will probably look very similar to yours in terms of trick parts,... except for 3 things. I am putting an alloy subframe on "with an integrated airbox" to give it added strength. Also, i found some brand new / never used WP 4054 multi adjust forks that i want to put on them. Lastly, i found a local engineering shop that builds 2 stroke cone pipes, they reckon they can build a couple for mine. ( has anyone tried to buy a brand new "works type" Procircuit pipe lately??.....impossible)

Once i have some decent pics/progress i will post em up.

 Jon.

 Jon.

ive heard that people have bought the plated pipes then stipped the plating off then burned the pipe with a welder , and that makes it look like a works pipe

Hey Jon,
Good to hear from you.
Sounds good, I never did like those WP forks tho.
Send some pics when you can.
