Hello all!
« on: December 17, 2010, 12:08:24 PM »
New to this site. Found it by accident. I'm always looking for info on 'green' items. My name is Aaron, I live in NEPA. I'm 51 yrs old and have been riding since I was 14. I broke my back jumping a 250 Suzuki Hustler street bike when I was 17. 5 yrs ago I had a neck fusion of c5,c6,c7. I've trained with Rich Lafferty. I plan on doing some training with Shane Watts. I currently race Hare scrambles in the senior B class on a 2004 KX250. Took 4th place in D6 2009. I deliver tires for a living. Here are a few pics of the bike as I raced it in 09. I'm currently overhauling it again for the upcoming 2011 race season.

The four stroke engine: That's one stroke for producing power and three for wearing the engine out.

Thanks. Yeah, Alum. diamond plate held on with Black RTV Adhesive/sealant. Wears well, great protection and not too expensive. RL liked it too.

 Hey Aaron,
  Welcome to the group.
2'nd on the diamond plate!!  (insert forehead slap)  Why didn't I think of That!
You must be one tough son of gun to have had the back/neck work done and still race!
I blew out both sides of L-4 and while I was recovering I think all the arthritis in my joints thought it would be the perfect time to party.... Oy-Va... now I gotta have both hips replaced.. If you can Race, I should at least be able to plunk along SingleTrack..
Take Care and glad to have you along for the ride..

Tuck, you can do anything if you want it bad enough and love it enough. I know what you mean about the arthritis party. I was on the V's for a while but got off. The only thing I take now is a multi vite and fish oil (just had lasik done). My crew has dubbed me 'Iron Aaron' LOL! I did a 3hr Ironman race the end of October on a 1985 Honda XR350 (which is for sale btw)...and took 3rd!!!!  My Kung Fu teacher had both his hips replaced. Truely an inspiration! I think singletrack is the most fun you can have in the woods. Oh, an in case your wondering what that red rocker switch is my the kill button...a dual map Athena CDI. Also running an Ikat and a 13oz FFW.
