Value of a running 92 engine?
« on: June 18, 2010, 05:07:34 AM »
I bought a 92 KX500 yesterday for $400.  Runs good, but the rest of the bike is junk. I bought another one last week just for the engine for a new project of mine (rmz250). So I really don't need this engine that I just picked up but the price was right!  I see them for $900 or more (the engine that is) on ebay.   What would a good price for me to sell this one for?  Or should I just pull the engine, and hang on to it for a while just in case I find a KTM chasis to put it in. :-D

Buy a K5 89-04 and keep it.  Two motors are a sweeeet option.

I would have 3 then. One 04 kx250f-k5 coversion, one 91 KX500 (just removed engine, rest of bike junk), and one 92 now.

I'm 200% interested if you want to get rid of it. That would get me a lot closer to getting my 95 250/500 build done.
It's hard to keep a drivers license riding a 2 stroke dirt bike on the street.  If you drive within the law they are VERY boring.
