I have just been talking to a man with a Maico 685 today (I'll put the pictures up as soon as they download) and his bike had a HGS exhaust on it.
It was unmodified and still chromed so is a standard part.

It had a little plate on the expansion chamber with the numbers 9081-1 on it as I remembered you needed an exhaust and asked the bloke lots of questions to find out where you can get parts.
He got his parts from Maico International.

HGS exhausts are made in the Netherlands if that helps any? Might be worth ringing them about one.

Oh, and I forgot to mention that his bike had a Bing carb on it also but the 2010 Maicos (including the 700cc version) have Kehin Air Striker carbs on them.

It was chucking down with rain in the morning but dried up nicely just before

I'll put some pictures up in a separate thread later on tonight, I'm just off climbing for a while at the local wall and will do it when I get back.

Well atleast now Hgs Admitted they do make the pipe =) But they wont sell it to me =( I can only buy it from Macio (And they are not asnwering my e-mails)

I can ring Maico International up and ask them how much the exhaust is and what order code it is if you want?
Its not the place I thought it was so might not be as close to me as I thought but its no bother phoning them up for you if that helps any.

Here's the other photos I took of the bike.

The owner of the bike said that the frame was off a Maico 380 Enduro and that he just bought the rest of the parts to make it up from Maico International, if you look here you can see that the frame has even had a steering lock at some point.

He also said that the frames have hardly changed since about 1986 and that the frame from the Maico I had (a 250 water cooled version from about 1994) could fit that engine in there, a mates got it so its possible that he might do it at some point.
