Sure do miss all the technical contributions , but I guess it is to be expected after certain replies on here.

Did I mention I REALLY MISS THE TECHNICAL STUFF that we used to have here!

maybe he is at his peak busy time at his shop. it kind of turns into a monster when you are the top knotch guy at what you do. everyone hears about you and wants you to work on their stuff. which is great but then you dont have the time to do the things you used to do. not sure if thats what he has going but i agree with Doldguy, i am kind of missing the real meat and potatoes, side salads arent bad but i sure like the MEAT and POTATOES!

I hope people don't run off a guy like him.  Be a shame to have such a great source of info and honesty pushed off the forum.    Seen it happen on other forums.   A friend of mine is one of the top builders and tuners in the world for a specific engine.  Would share tons of dyno test info, how to build engines, setups.   Things he felt knew would benefit his business by keeping it all to himself.  Yet felt he would help people by sharing what he learned and knew.    Today he shares 0.0% of what he tests or does anymore.      Just the other day him and I were talking, ( we go back 19 years now.)   of how much different the world was pre internet.    We miss the simplicity.

Relax gwcim, I am positive he is on the level. Super busy, I can believe. He lives and breathes kx500, you are in great hands. Maybe hit up the k5abuser. They work together.  We need a web-cam on the Roush Race shop, then everyone would understand his schedule. Always looks real busy in the still pics.

I'm in the same boat. Waiting for my head.
I did talk to him first part of last week and was supposed to have it last week.
Was hoping to have it back together befor the three day week end coming up.

I'm not bashing Stewart.  When he didn't answer his phone, I just got concerned.  I know it's that time of year.  Should have had him do the cases months ago.

I sent the head out on the recomondtions of this foruim and the pos. feed back of this board.
Sent the head out on April 22nd. Week later Stewart call me and we decussed what I wanted and what he would want for the work. I had know problem with price. I told him I would pay him the first week of May.
I did pay the bill on the 8th of May. Stewart told me that he would send it out right away. I waited for a week and did not get the head back.
I called him and he said I should get it in a couple of days as he was unable to send it out right away. Again I waited another week.
I have tried to call him here in the last few days to see if I could get a tracking # or to see if it had in fact been sent at all. At this time I there is no answer at his phone. I also have left a email with no results.

Stewart is a nice gent and I want to give him the benifit of a dought, but I'll be honest this is getting really anoying as I had plans for the three day week end coming up. I thought i would have plenty of time from the time I paid for the work and the new head to this up coming week end to get the bike running again. Now it looks like I have to cancel the weekend cause I don't have the head back and there is no responce or way to get hold of him.
Sorry for the venting. Like most folk's I relay on what folk's have to say about the work that someone has done for them.

I wanted someone that new all the little tricks of the KX500 to do the work. This is the reseaon for joining you folks on this site....lots of info.

At this time I have quite a bit of money paid out and no head for the bike. Really not sure what the next step should be.

Iceman,
I know you will get your head with the mods discussed, if you are in a pinch for a head, I have a stock head (uncut) that I would be glad to send so you can make your ride. We all must keep in mind that the K5 is a passion for Stewart, BUT, I am sure that its not what pays his bills. Have received a few things from him with the understanding it will be a little while.

Again, if you need the head the offer is there.

WOW!!!! if i have never said it before, let me say it now. there are some REALLY nice and cool guys that are members at this site. where else would you get offers to use a total strangers parts for free. we are blessed to have all the members that we do. look at the stuff that some of them do for the guys here. Doldguy, we just saw the kind of guy he is. Friar tuck, he is always lending his time and wealth of info at a moments notice. Danger4u2, he pays for this site so the rest of us have a cool site to hang around on. Bdi, he's always around with top quality info, if he says something you can count on it to be from experience and fact. Stewart, he has been here for a long time giving us all top quality info. he's never scoffed at any question no matter how dumb, and trust me,ive asked some dumb ones on here. i know i only mentioned a couple guys here, i don't mean to leave everyone else out. everyone here is really great at giving advise. i just want to express how awesome it is to have nice guys around offering to help in any way they can.

Thanks for the offer, but he has all the parts that go in the head.
He has the head top, Clyn, wirst pin and bearing, C clips, the complete power valve assem.  and piston. Most of it is junk. But I sent it to him so he could see the way it came off the bike.
I was told that it would take a week to get the new head assem. back, this was almost two weeks ago. I have paid 1K for a new upper assem. with a few mod's he was going to do.

So are you saying it might be when ever for the return of the new head.??
I do have rides that I'll be doing this season, and getting it back when ever does not fit that time line.

Not being offencive here just looking for a time fram. He said it was shipped some time ago (two weeks) but I don't have a tracking number to find it, or if it was shipped.

I sent the head assem. to him with the understanding that I would get it back in a short time after getting the old one.

I take folk's at there word as I did with the recomomditions of the KX riders foruim to use Stewarts servces.

I'm sure you understand not returning a email or phone call can put costumers on edge.

Kurt
