I wonder if they could have over charged it. I know that with my nitrogen set up I can easily put 500 psi in something with out breaking a sweet. I myself would never do a half ass job of rebuilding a shock even if the customer asked me to. When you work on something for someone and then there is a problem with it no one ever says bdi fixed it and then it failed because I asked him to half ass it. My reputation is worth to much to me. if some one wants hack work done I will turn the work away. I just turned down a complete engine rebuild because the guy didn't want to put in new main bearings. anything worth doing is worth doing right and if you do it right the first time you don't have to do it again.

Its funny BDI mentions it may have been overcharged as the first thing that came to mind when I read this was that it probably had too much nitrogen in it.  Not quite enough to blow the bladder initially, but I'd imagine it will need replaced also.

I am sure they will stand behind their work , i hope anyways.  :| I tried to take a picture of the threads , it's like they are gone. They are all smashed together and smooth on the parts that launched out when i tried to kick start it. I added links to the pictures , I hope i get my shock back by next weekend because i have a trip planned.

I own a few quads , k5 , and a wr500 so i have dropped thousands in the last years going there. Thanks alot for all your support guys !

That's interesting. I wonder how they could possibly fix that correctly by tomarrow.?

I'm sure it will take longer , atleast a couple of days. Although he told me they have bladders and valves in stock. So who knows , same place told me a week on a bore on my wr500 cylinder and had it done in 3 days and then told me they were waiting on the piston that's why it took so long . We will see i guess  :|

if they have the parts in stock and the threads in the shock body are ok then I guess it would be easy to fix by tomarrow. Did you look at the threads in the shock? are they ok?

OK , Now the shop isn't standing behind there work . Said they didn't remove the valve when they put seals , oil , and nitrogen into the shock. Told me the bladder is blown and it was going to be about 2 weeks and 70 bucks for that but then tell me the valve threads are ruined and they can't find a valve for it. They are trying to tell me the bladder blew and thats what caused the valve to shoot out , i blew a bladder trying to kick start it ? ? So now what ? ? ? grrrr.. So i called a dealership and told them exactly what i have said in this thread and they say to do that job correctly you need to take that valve out. Said " sounds fishy to them "  :x

Perhaps you can find a used one and get out riding soon. There were a lot of KX500's made, so you should be able to pick one up at a reasonable price.

So your saying if you drop something off to get rebuilt and you get charged for that rebuild. The item that you just installed that was just rebuilt just took a poop on you with zero hours on it , you would just look for a different or new one ? Not question the shop that just did the rebuild ? Wow , lol  . . . .  Can i rebuild some stuff for you then ? lol

Well the response you now have is the one I expected you to get in the first place. I think most of us have been screwed by a shop and realise how little chance you have of ever getting anything out of them. Your energy would be better spent finding a new shock. By the way the blader blew because the valve came out not the other way around. You are dealing with jack asses.

The shock was over filled with oil. The bladder was not inflated, it was collapsed when they were filling it with oil. I have seen this happen before. My two cents.

And that is the reason I learn how to fix everything on my own. Businesses like that piss me off and make me not trust any of them. Sorry to hear about this bad situation. Wish I had a spare shock laying around for ya. I will keep an eye out though.
