Lighting Stator?
« on: February 19, 2010, 01:42:18 PM »
I just wanted to see how many KX 500 owners would be buy a E-Line style 200w lighting stator if it were to be made available.
The more response the better.

ill take one if it includes user programmable digital ignition (think laptop). With a standard k5 base curve

and most important it must meet BDI's spec

I think that we can all assume that if we go through the effort of making a lighting stator that it not "sucking ass" will be a top priority. With that said, it would not have anything to do with the ignition. It will be like the Eline but with better electronics. Separate from the ignition on the outside of the flywheel.

If you can make it so it clears the KX500AF pipe Id buy one.
A couple of 03 and 04 KXs, a few YZs, 3 PE 400s, a DR and a TS.

Make it fit behind the stock flywheel and include a charging circuit and harness for a battery.

All it has to do is run an HID light and charge a battery to not suck. I don't think makeing that fit behind the stock flywheel is asking to much. You don't even need 200 watt to do that. I bet it will be even cheaper to produce then some E-line style crap.
