hi diggler, i just got an 88 kx 500 to restor so if you have any bits or know where i can source some then please get in touch.Thats a great job your doing on her!

Nice i like the '88.

All the bits are available, what are you after.

A mate of mine is doing all the hard work on mine, he is a whizz when it comes to bike restoration.

not to sure yet though i am definately short of the carb,rear brake pedal,kickstart,gearlever,gearbox is jammed so dont know til i split it.Both brakes are abit dodgy.Going to view some parts this week off a friend so he may have some of the bits.

Man, that bike will look like it just came out of the crate! It's so awesome to read about a guy painstakingly restoring a dirtbike, rather than some meatstick punk that just beats a bike to death, then just throws it in the shed after every ride....

BTW, the first time you hammer that bike in the mud for a day, you are gonna' just cry.....  :)

How are you getting your engine parts and hubs so clean?  Everything looks great.

A friend did it all, he uses an aqua blasting machine.

How are you getting your engine parts and hubs so clean?  Everything looks great.

Purple Power is also an amazingly effective cleaner for bare aluminum components.
