KIPS Question
« on: September 27, 2009, 04:04:45 AM »
I had a question in the past about a noise I was getting that I and others thought was a loose expansion chamber. Someone mentioned KIPS noises so I pulled the side cover and pipe to find out what is going on. I found that there is nothing holding the seal in place letting the actuator shaft wallow around. From the drawings online, it looks as if there is a screw or wide head bolt that will hold the KIPS seal in place.

Is this correct and if so, is it a special screw/bolt or can I find anything to fit?   Could the wallowing of the shaft cause damage to the head and KIPS system?

This is my first time into the KIPS and any help is appreciated.
