Yea when I first got my bike I layed it back and broke the back fender. So I ordered a UFO black rear fender for a 89 KX500, and The thing won't fit. I can't get the holes lined up, I dont know if its my muffler thats in the way or what, I wanted to know if anyone knew what i could do or If this happened to anyone before.

Sorry to take this topic in a different direction. Since we're talking rear fenders. I saw an 04' KX500 with black plastics but the rear fender was shaped like a newer 250 fender. Anyone know where to get one, or have any info. on them.

Thanks

'89 through '04s are the same, aren't they?

Mine's an '89.  I had a freebie older rear fender that I put on it after I broke the stocker.  It required drilling and trimming but the price was right.

Yeah it's mine. The fender is from a 1993 KX250 and is made by UFO.

Yup, been running the 93 KX250 rear fender for about a year now.  With the KX250 shrouds, a lot of folks mistake it for a KX250, but wonder why it goes so fast...

I just picked up new plastic and Chevy Truck graphics.  Put most of the sponsor stickers on last night, and the new plastic will get bolted in place next week.  I just hate the hassle of trimming the rear fender to fit.  Oh well, beauty takes effort.

Alright guys, I went out and ordered a 93' KX250 rear fender. What kind of trimming do I need to do?

About an 1/8 inch from the parts that contacts the airbox. Wait until you start installing the fender, it's not much.

Hey, uh guys...

The '89 fender sgould fit; however,

1. Did you bend your sub-frame rails?
2. Do you really expect those "After-market" holes to line up perfectly?

Good Luck,

Manny

to answer those:

1. No
2. No, they're off (on the subframe) by about 1/2" but the ones in the airbox line up perfectly
