 Doug,
Thank you for contacting Rekluse Motor Sports!  We are not currently producing the z-Start Clutch for the Kawasaki KX500.  We are continuing to grow our product line and manufacturer base ... so please keep us in mind as we may bring this model onboard in the months to come.  All product release info can be found at our website, ride on!

Well, so much for that idea. :( I'll have to find a EFM or Revloc now.

I just removed my clutch this weekend and sent it off to Garry at EFM.  For $500 plus shipping he is going to build me an auto clutch.  I will let you know how it works out.

Please let us know. I've been wanting one for the longest time. I'm just too lazy with the clutch.

Revloc got a piece of my mind yesterday regarding this.  They have been dragging us along since February stating one would be available and now since the KX5 is gone they dropped us.

I thought Revloc was the first out there making one for the KX500. I guess once their supply ran out they decided not to make anymore. Do they realize how many KX500 will still be around? Don't know about east coast, but out west here, they will be around a LONG time in the desert.

The problem with the KX-500 is that it doesn't have a separate cover for the clutch.  Typically the auto clutch manufacturers will machine a spacer for the cover to accomodate the additional width.  That's why no one makes one for the KX-500.
Garry at EFM said that he will try to fit it all under my side cover.  If that fails, I will just have the area machined off where the clutch is and have a new spacer/cover made up and welded on.  I don't give up easy.   :boxing:

If you look at Destry Abbots 500 you might notice that it has a separate clutch cover (like the 250s have) which I asked him about (on his website) and his reply was that it was a factory part.

Perhaps Teamgreen500 would be able to help? might be worth asking him?

Possibly they use the standard cover modified to fit the 250 clutch cover?

I have not seen them side by side so am just making this up as I go allong here :?
The old cover would need to have the side machined off and then bits built up with weld to provide areas to drill bolt holes if so.

On the other hand they might just make up the whole thing.
