what cars do we have
« on: March 08, 2009, 11:20:45 PM »
figured this could be an interesting topic since there are a lot of gearheads here.
i know of a few members that they own very nice cars.
for ex. the bmw isetta ,the nova from maddoggy.
but also daily rides or any other kind of rig you own ,show it here

i will start with my summerride ,its a 25 years old OPEL KADETT - made in germany  8-)
the brand still houses under the GM roof..
but not for long anymore ,since Gm is about to go down

i hope this topic will make a fun addition to our forum.
it could be nice just knowing what kxriders do ride /build /restore right @ this moment .

oh danger if you don,t want it ,then kick it right of the board

1st pic : lowrider,rear arches widened by 2,5 inch
2nd      : front ,hood is loose ,i always disconnect battery, thats why
3rd      : 2000 cc DOHC with 160 bhp
4th      shaved backdoor and DTM exhaust

i,m curious what cars you guys ride  8-) 8-)

Daily driver or toy? Street legal anyway. The red buggy evolved into the green one....KX green BTW. 1917cc turbo charged, 750 Holley, nos, close ratio gears, hydo cutting brake. It will run 10:80 with wheelie bars and slicks but it is the most fun in the sand.  The vette is a grocey getter and is nothing special.

Last year I sold the three fastest toys I've ever owned.

1- 1970 Dodge Challenger.  Had it for 30 years.  It was a street/strip car that got too far to the strip.  After it sitting for 10 years, unused, I sold it.  Did 11.80 on pump gas and treaded dirt track tires.  No wheel tubs, no nitrous.  Just a warmed up 440 Six Pack.

2- 1998 Camaro SS convertible.  Good for 160 MPH off the showroom floor but not good at all for my driving record.

3- 1994 Harley Sportster.  In a very modified state with a very BIG engine it went 180 MPH.

It eventually looked like this:

Now all I have is a Dodge Dakota and this:

~Crim~
You raise the blade
You make the change
You rearrange me 'til I'm sane

You guys already know about my Isetta, but I also have a 1962 Mighty Mite, it is an all aluminum Marine Corp Jeep, made for air drop into Viet Nam.  I also have a 1965 Greenbriar Corvair Van , very strange but kinda cool. I have a long travel, tube frame, off road, short course truck,Chevy body and power.. And my street truck is a Frontier. A Titan motorhome and Hough front end loader wrap up my inventory of vehicles.
Spring is here and the Mighty 500 wants to ride.

KX500freak, there is a couple Isetta pictures in my gallery album. As far as the rest, I will try to add pic of the Mighty Mite. The weather is real rainy right now and supposed to snow tomorrow. The rest may have to wait until good weather.

I've got an old BMW 320i (Model E30 from 86) with 370.000 km on the clock (whats that, 220.000 miles?).

For bikes I have:
KX500 '96 street legal (+ donor bike)
Honda CBR600 '07 race bike
Honda CBR600 '96 race bike (selling)
Yamaha R6 '00 race bike (parting out)

I'll try to get some pictures soon.

After a year of diddling around I turned a $200 beat up black Grand Cherokee into a short distance bike trailer puller/grocery getter. 33x10.50, 10k winch, 4" lift and custom JFAB bumpers. Can you say REDNECK  :-D

I don't think I can compare to the stuff posted above, but I'll try. I haven't figured out how to post pictures (or upload to the gallery yet...maybe I'll work on that tonight).

I'll go in order of year.

1982 Camaro Z28
Original Crossfire car. Every option but T-tops. Had 35,000 on it when I bought it. Sold the motor/trans, gutted the interior, welded a roll cage in. It's currently got a 454/Th350/9". Haven't officaily run it at the track yet, still working the bugs out of it.

1983 Camaro Z28
Originaly a L69 305/T5 car. Pulled the 305 and dropped a 70 Lt1 'Vette motor in. The T5 didn't like that, broke the input shaft and chipped a few gears. Rebuilt the T5, but have a T56 to replace it (as soon as I get the correct pedals). Was my daily driver for a few years. Body is great but has high millage (175,000+)

1987 K5 Blazer
Started as a 350/700R4/208, has a 383/Sm465/205. Replaced the 10 bolts with a Dana 60 and a 14 bolt, along with some 4.88 gears. It's sitting on 38" Boggers, have a set of 37's for road duty. It's currently my winter vehicle and trailer (snomobile) puller. Body is way bad on this one, probably getting a body swap soon. I'm thinking of a newer S10 truck.

1988 Camaro Iroc-Z
Original L98 350/700R4. Every option but leather (Except 1LE). 50,000 miles last I checked. It's been rumored that GM stopped making 350 cars with T-tops. And it's been proven that the production numbers of the 350/t-top cars declined after 1987...I'm holding onto this one for this reason.

1988 Camaro Sport Coupe (aka base model)
Started life as a basic v6/T5 car. Waiting for the machine shop to finish my block. It's getting a full roller 406 with AFR heads. That'll be backed by a T56. Body was a little rough compared to my other ones, needed paint, I painted it last winter...sort of a smokey grey. Interior is on the rough side too. I plan to daily drive this one, so it can stay that way for awhile though.

1991 Kx125
Bought as a package deal when I bought my Kx500. Fun bike, has some motor work done to it. Use it at the track more than anything else.

1994 Grand Cherokee
This is the one vehicle that I absolutly hate. It was in a front end collision a few years ago, bought the parts for fix it but never got around to it. Nothing of the inside works anymore, the transmission slips and the motor has a knock when you start it in the morning. I do no maintnace on this thing (when I do it gets used oil from one of the Camaros or K5), but it refuses to die. This one actually get driven alot. I use it to pull my bikes around, and the girl friend uses it to run around town.

1995 Cbr1000F
My current daily driver (summer). Nothing really special about it.

I'm not sure what year my Kx500 would be. It's got an 87 motor and 92 frame with some suspension pieces from both. The wheels are off of a newer bike. Got a Cr500 carb and some Ktm handle bars. ProCircuit pipe and spark arrestor, Boysen reeds other than that it's stock. Except for the flywheel, I had a FWW on it for awhile but didn't like it. So it's missing 3 of the 6 rivets....making it lighter and the motor very responsive.

I've got a thing for 3rd gen Camaros, but have my eyes on a 4th gen Trans Am. Waiting to get paid from a few jobs before I can make an offer on it though.
