lots o time and no money make a man grab ahold of everything cheap ..
this costs only man-hours.
it does the job for me ... 3 mm thick stainless steel it is..

Freakworks look great don't think I could have done any better .Aluminum road signs can be had at about any salvage yard and they are nice and thick, good for a project like this. just an option.

@turtle, tnx :) its purpose is to keep the frame from getting rubbed by the mxboot to bare metal.

i see said the blind man. the last owner of my(awesome mountain climbing) '91 has grip tape(for skate boarding) but i think i like ur idea better. i pulled most of the tape off(it was curling).

My bike had no chain case guard on it at time of purchase.  Yours looks like a really great after-market one??  Who makes it? How much?

only requirements are :


a grinder with cutting disc
piece of stainless 3mm
safety glasses
2 longer bolts for the rearmastercylinder connection
