Flyin9,

That looks like fun. Read on another post your inquiry about who to send the motor to for midrange (all fingers pointed to Stewart). How does the motor run for your requirements? I had a little exposure to the Karts (freinds had 250 motors) and they ran very strong, and they had multiple pipes for the different tracks. I would appreciate some more pics to see a close up of the pipe your running (midrange pipe??) What are the other Karts running for power? Again, love the Kart!

Dold,
there are a few guys that are running 250's around my area, they are ok with power. they run in their own class. i run in the 500 class which is the outlaw class. single cylinder single carb, 550 cc max displacment. other than that spend spend spend. there are a few diffrent pipes being made, the one on the kart above i had custom hnd made from a snowmobile specialist in canada, spendy, pm me it you really want to know how much. it lasted one heat cycle(5 min) one hotlap session(3 min), and i flipped it in the next session. i had less than 10 min on the pipe and its pretty much junk. most of the guys are running CR 500's because theyare easier to find. ill put up more pics in a min here

Flyin9,

Thanks for posting the pics. I am saddened, (and sure you too!), to see that work of art pancaked like that. That header has a tremendous amount of work in it with that amount of cones. As stated above, the pipe repair companies can do a great job of fixing pipes, and I am sure that one had large $$$$$$ vested into it. The blue groove pic looks great also (running the cush to sling shot on the apex??) Thanks Again for posting the pics.

If you had invested that much into a hand made pipe where you cant openly state the price, and it only lasted two sessions(motos, practice laps, what have you) then why not build some protection for it? I'm not ridiculing, just curious if there is a good reason.

the reason the pipe bent was because i was upside down on the track and a guy ran me over. that dosent happen to often. the pipe was 600$ no one has any pipe protection because there is really no god way to attach it other than putting a big box around it, it would be simply to big bulky and weigh to much, at 435LBS for the weight. when i said the pipe was expensive, i was trying to say that there were a lot of hours put in to it and it is a shame to see it destroyed. the guy that makes them is backed up over a year right now making parts so it is hard to get one.
gwcrim- strap a rocket to your butt hop in a small bath tub and dont let the left front touch the ground. its a great time. I race against a lot of ex-stock car drivers that their car budgets ran dry so they oppted to karting which is much less. they say that reaction times are much quicker and they seem way faster.

I grit my teeth in desire to control one of those things (or try to anyway! :-D)

With a Stewart motor, you should be able to walk away from anything out there given proper tuning.
