P.S.  The side-to-side whipping thing I've also experienced on my K5.. seems to occasionally happen on stutter bumps.  After reading a Personal Message from jag talking about a dilemma his friend was having.. I'm starting to believe it's an issue with not enough rebound dampening dialed-in.

Have any of you guys had problems with getting the clamp to stay on?  Mine keeps coming loose... Is it because it?s not on right?  Maybe not tight enough, It?s really tight & I don?t wanna strip/break it?  Here is how it?s on now... It was on the bike when I got it and I?ve never had any experience with stabilizers before.  A buddy of mine has one on his bike, but it is welded on, and i would rather not do that.

I just got back from a very steep, rocky and hilly ride on my k5. Humbling to say the least. I have suffered from a serious amount of violent front end deflection; the front end just seemed to make a big deal out of everything.
I am a 140kg rider (308lbs I know what a tank hehe but I?m big boned ) and I don?t wish to soften the front any, as it was using most of the stroke of the front fork. Do you think that changing the dampening presets would help? Or even having a steering dampener installed?

If the mount was put on the frame and the paint was not removed where the clamp pinches on the frame then as the paint wears and breaks down the clamp comes loose.

The last time I did it I put the mount on the frame and used a razor blade to scribe the paint around the mount. Then I took the mount off and used the razor to scrape and chip the paint off of the frame where the mount clamps on. Super easy to do and only removes the paint you want gone.

So... I got off all the paint and re mounted the clamp and it still doesnt hold.  Ive decided to weld it on, but my question is... i want to put the least ammount of weld as possible so im thinking maybe just 2 or 3 tack welds.  What do you think?

Maybe you should by the weld on post. What number do you run your stabilizer on?

You have a bolt on post?  And your going to weld it on?  Will it interfere with the steering stem bearings?  Here's a pic of my weld on post.

I usually run it anywhere from 1-5.  Anything over that just feels weird.  I?m sure that will go away after I get more time on it.  This is the first time I?ve ridden with one.

So... this weekend went riding and when i get back to the truck i find this missing... the post came loose and tipped to the side letting that spacer fall out.

I went to GPR's website but they don?t have anything on there for parts.  I?m guessing I can call them to get ahold of it, but being that I?m now looking into a weld-on post; does that piece come with it?  No sense in buying another on if it comes with?

Thanks in advance-
