I put a fly wheel weight and a reed spacer on my wifes KX85 and it made it easier to start.I just broke my kick starter and the new ones thicker at the knukle, and you want to try and kick straight down- not outward or at an angle.

I would like to find a good set of tripple clamps at a fair price...hmmmm more graphics options/colors and i am with paul on the high content silicon piston, would last longer than forged and the clearences could be tighter(less rattle a warmup!).Also a set of excell wheels and some  talon hubs, just for the looks!Oh yeah and those uninvented never wear tires that hook up on any surface with white colored letters!I gues i am happy with the rest of my bike!

Here is a little known ditty, pull your top triple clamp and notice what is stamped underneath... yep KX250 ;) same part number as long as the fork diameter is the same.

All I'd love to have is enough time to ride as much as I want. :(

I'll tell you one thing I would like on my bike.  I'd like to have a seperate Clutch cover that was removable like most other bikes.  It'd also be nice of the brake lever didn't bash in the clutch cover like it does sometimes.

My bike got bashed good in a get off vs a Boulder of Epic proportions.

Destry Abbott had a custom made one (clutch cover)so it can be done, but I dont think he uses it any-more.

I'll ask John at Kawi...I think they make them in-house or have'em done. I'll find out and post.

Anther-thing...Team Green removes and fills the oil window that's in the side-cover.

That thing is completely useless. I have a couple friends that have fried clutches because they thought the little metal tits in there is where the oil level is supposed to be

The only other thing you have to be careful with on the tripple clamp swap is the steering stem diameter.  I found (by accident) that while the tripple clamp fork diameter was the same, the KX250 had a larger steering stem than the KX500, about 21 thousands to be exact.  My solution?  Purchased a small length of 10 thousands shim stock, shaped it into a circle around the outside of a socket, and tapped it into the tripple clamps stem hole after the tripple clamp was installed.  The fit was perfect.
