Front forks
« on: June 21, 2007, 01:26:41 PM »
Couple weeks ago, the left fork began to leak, I ordered the seals, but it took a while so I added some fluid and took the bike for a ride, I noticed that it stopped leaking,
but when i hit ruts they bottom out really easy.
How bad is the damage???
Where is this fluid going???

Its probably fine. You may be out completely even though you added some. If seals leak again after you replace them, replace brass bushings. They actually guide the tube, and if they lose tolerance, then the seal gets worn quickly. I personally don't work on them, but after replacing my guide bushings, I have had no problems.
