Which yr kx250 vforce3 ?

I am planning on adapting the kx250 vfroce3 reeds to my 500.
 
Anyone know which year to use and what is involved?

Have to trim the reed stuffers off the KX5 carb boot and thats it I do believe. No extra gasket needed as far as I can tell.

You need to use a V force for an older KX 250 05-07 use a different bolt configuration, I can't remember whether the 03-04 are the old bolt pattern. 02 will defineately work, I've used a 250 valve on my 500.

The Vforce3 is listed for the kx250 in the years 89-04 and 05-07, so now we know which to use.

Sorry for digging up an old thread, but I'm new, so there's my excuse! :-P

This 89-04 KX250 Vforce 3 will make the most power out of all reeds etc for the KX5?  It beats out the Boysen's and all others?

I would like to see a detailed picture scenario of how to mod it properly for our application, while using the Moose spacer.  That would be nice.

don't have any pics, but just did it on my K5.  the v-force was out of my old '01 kx250 and I believe that most of the year models work out about the same, except for the '05 and up. when you unbolt the boot from the reeds and cylinder you will find on the inside of the big rubber boot:

2 rubber protruding wedge shapped pieces that rest inside the stock reeds.
all you have to do is to cut these off with a razor blade down level with the gasket surface. the v-force doesn't have the open cavity that the stock reeds do. so these protruding bits won't go. you'll see it immediately if you have them in your hands. the spacer won't have any effect on this procedure.

Oh, and I used a thin film of the red high temp. silicon on all the mating surfaces to insure no vacuum leaks.
