« on: March 18, 2007, 08:12:39 AM »
i have heard reom a few sources that yamaha has a 500cc twin banshee that will be out in 08 or 09. i think it will be in every country other than the US. i was wondering if anyone else has any info in this or have come across pics

i know this is a kawasaki forum, but most forums are full of punk kids that have no clue what they are talking about

Several versions of this machine are being tested in Japan. The powerplant is a Yamaha Phazer snowmobile motor which is essentially a sandwich of two YZ250F motors producing 80hp. It will likely be toned down for the quad. Frame geometry is very close to the YFZ450.

Yammy had a V4 2 stroke 500 back in the 80's.  That would make one WILD quad.

They used to sell them as street bikes in Canada, those and the RG500 suzuki. There used to be lots riding around here back in the days when they were new.   I have a few friends who still have theirs and have restored them and put them on display.  I never owned one but rode my friends quite a bit. Lots of fun!  Cam.
