What should I call my bike?
« on: February 12, 2007, 05:17:21 PM »
I am in the process of putting a 500 motor in my 2005 KX250F frame, and I was wondering what I should call it.  Its not aluminum so it can't be a a KX500AF.  Any suggestions?

The KX500PF sounds good, and MadKaw, I might be missing something here but what does the MF stand for?

With a name like "Bob" it has to be fast !
Spring is here and the Mighty 500 wants to ride.

Bob is good, but if the wife asks what you want to do this weekend and you say "I'm going to ride Bob" things might get a little uneasy. Mike on the other hand would be clearly better.

Hmm, good point.

That sentence does come out sounding a bit "Brokeback Mountain" doesn't it.

AJ, I know I caught alot of grief but it was good. when I posted those pics, it was just when I got the bike running and put together, I still had to work out alot of bugs. After I took those pics, I tore it all apart and I am putting it all together correcly, tuning it, and making it look pretty.  As for the frame, I went and put a 1/8 inch plate all around the modified downtube which was suggested by someone I know, and then took it to get it treated to release stresses in the frame from the welding, and then I powdercoated it myself.

And on an iteresting note, when I originally cut the frame, there was alot of stress in it, the downtube moved about a half an inch from center.  Anyways here is a pic of how it sits right now :-)
