Anyone ever dyno or tach the KX5 to see what the top RPM is?

Ok, thanks...
Reason I ask, is cause I saw this one that dyno'd at 13,800 but that seemed a little high. I didn't know if running a lighter piston etc makes the difference.

I'm not sure if I would want to sit on it at 13,800! You could get a rude surprise!   :-o :-o

Just how high of RPM's can a KX500 survive? Reason I ask is because I want to get the Turbo crank mod which is just cutting the crank halves edge to look like a pinion gears teeth. Idea behind it is to create more turbulence inside to get a better mixture/burn therefore creating power. Don't want to do so if the motor won't last.

when they showed  that high of rpm they must have not correctly  set the pulse reading on dyno or what ever they checked it with  we use three diffrent types of rpm readers  each time to insure that our rpm is right it has to be or your horse power numbers will be off since  dynos meusure tourqe  and caculate hp  off rpm

I had a question about Rpm and crank vibration?  It seems that mine vibrates an almost uncontrollable amount until I get it on the pipe?  But, in general it is hard to control, is that normal for a 500, or should I get my crank trued or something?

Be sure you have a good rod before testing...

Look in my gallery to see a failed rod and what it can do!

Most of all serious racers "back in the days" change rod to H...da rod to
cure the problem with weak stock rods in Kawasaki KX500.

I think Wiseco`s Hotrod maybe it?s stronger.... :|

Ok, you just scared me senseless...
What do I have to do or not do to prevent this? Are you saying that all stock ones are weak? I am not a crazy rider, but dude...I don't want a chance..

From what I've heard and read, the "turbo veining" mod is a waste of money.  Just get it trued and welded.
