Big feet, short shifters
« on: December 14, 2006, 02:58:52 AM »
Size 13 MX boots don't fit too well between the foot peg and the shift lever on
most off road / MX bikes  :-(
I have lifted it, which helps a bit but now I have to lift my foot off the peg to
down shift... that sucks.
Hammerhead sells longer shift levers but they are pretty expensive, do any of you
guys know of someone else that makes / sells longer shifters?
I might have to get two MSR levers and cut an inch out of one and have it welded
into the other to make it longer .... not sure how strong that would be though....

My bike came with an IMS shifter and I have no problems with a size 11 with limited ankle movement do to a previous injury.

I use a modified Moose shifter, the stock shifter doesnt work well with my boots and my feet are only 9.5/43.  John

Thanks for the input guys.
I'll take a look into the IMS shifters, it could be that they are  bit
longer...

i am 6'5 size 13 boot i find that the fastaway pegs lower the mount about a half inch and moves it back a half an inch, when set in the low boy position!!!
also for you tall riders the sdg firm tall seat raises the seat an inch!!!

MudShark - I don't mean to hijack this thread but I saw under the wanted section that you were looking for a stock pipe for your KX.  I found one over on eBay and posted the link under your 'Wanted' post.

Did a search on the fastaway pegs, it's fastway pegs.  A ProMoto Billet product.

They look cool, wish I had heard about them before I bought the IMS pegs.
