KX 125 Engine Fitment
« on: June 10, 2018, 03:40:58 AM »
Hi seen on here that KX 125 1990 to 93 engines are interchangeable, also seen that KX 250 engine internals from right up to late 90's can be swapped in to the older 90/93 crankcases, hoping this follows with the 125's!

Does anybody know if the internals from a KX 125 1993 will fit in to 1990 crankcases as have a bitsa box of KX 125 spares including a 90 and 93 engine in bits but only have useable 90 cases, would be helpful as I want to cash all the spares in and make some space, thanks

first thing would check part numbers between them , that usually a good indication .

I have cross checked so many numbers with Kawasaki when sourcing parts for a 125 and then a 250 and they change the part numbers for same fit parts so that will not help!

http://www.kxriders.com/forums/index.php/topic,15952.0.html   so looks like 1992 to 1996 KX 250 cases if I am not mistaken are pretty much the same thing (1997 to 2004 very similar) so could also apply to the 125 ie the internals of a 1993 could be used in a 1990 crankcase if used along with the 1993 cylinder & head?
