I recently rebuilt a 97 kx250 shock.
I just entered all the details in on race techs website and ordered a kit. Watched a video on YouTube on how to do it and it's not that difficult. Having a good parts washer helps alot and a heap of rags to clean up the oil.
The main nut holding the valving and piston was very tight even tho it wasn't peened over. Just heat the nut with a heat gun and use a set of soft jaws in a bench vice with a rattle gun to remove.
Just take ya time and you will be fine I found it easier than doing fork seals.
