Sprocket offset ?
« on: June 28, 2016, 04:24:48 AM »
86 500 , new front sprocket. One side is flush/even all the way , other side has slight offset, (1/8 at most)
Which way would offset face, in towards engine or out towards foot peg.
Didn't notice when removing old sprocket if it had offset or if it did which way.

Thanks, John !!

Offset side goes in towards the crankcase. This sets the sprocket away from the case for proper chain line. Flat side of sprocket faces out for a flat surface to rest lock washer against.

Flipped the sprocket around and it looks better. Fabbing a chain slider and chain was close to front hole. All better now !!

Thanks for the help !!  Being able to pick the brains of model specific gear heads help.
