Hammerhead might be another option, as there's seem to have more meat for modifying...
I'm not sure how close the bolt pattern is on Honda's, Yama's and KTM's, but I wouldn't give up all hope without looking into the possibilities of maybe making one of them work.

I just took my stock one, and polished it to a mirror finish last year...looks ok.
Excuse me, ma'am...but you've got extremely nice legs!!!...what time do they open???                                                                                                               https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n8tCgN3aryQ

ahh...no problem...
there are places that make aftermarket ones, but I've yet to see one for the K5.

Yeah that's the issue I ran into...ill do some calling and measuring to see if I can make one work.

Do you know what model and year 250 will interchange and work on the 500? Since they don't list the 500 on there? Thanks! that will look much better than the stocker!

I am not exactly sure but I know that 84 through 88 Tecate 3 and 4 wheelers are the same which are the same as the kx engines and my 2000 and 2001 kx 250s are the same

Made some good progress on the 500 this weekend, got a lot of parts back from blasting and powder coating. Powder coated the triple clamps black, the swing arm black, soda blasted the carb and suspension linkage, new hoses on the carb, polished the frame guards and skid plate, installed green Renthal sprocket, installed MX32 Dunlop's, had the suspension revalved and set up for me, all new plastic going on, starting to look like a bike again, Custom graphics are in the works now. Hopefully have it buttoned up with in the next month or so.

It's coming out nice.
Great job
The four stroke engine: That's one stroke for producing power and three for wearing the engine out.
