Tuning a 2 stroke kx125
« on: September 10, 2015, 03:18:13 AM »
Hi all does any one know of of used anyone in Kent that does tuning on a 2 stroke

It's a 1991 kx 125 just been rebuilt barrel replated and wiseco piston kit I am getting a bit of irratic reving is it revs and pulls like a train then bogs a bit then revs at the top end I have ordered some some new boyesen power reeds as my thought was they are weak a not open and closing correctly ( I may be wrong ) but thought it's worth a try I am still waiting for them to arrive so can't tell if that has worked yet but just asking if any one has experience or any ideas if faulty reed valves can cause this or it is just a jetting issue

Any advice welcome please

check your spark plug cap real closely for cracks.
does it idle smoothly?...you could possibly have an air leak.

with all the guru's on here, it'll get figured out.
Excuse me, ma'am...but you've got extremely nice legs!!!...what time do they open???                                                                                                               https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n8tCgN3aryQ

I have a new plug and its is a new cap on the a few months ago just looked at my old reeds and they have some fraying on the edges and they have a slight gap on where they seat on the reed block and the rubber boots on the inlet side of the carb and the reed reed block side all look ok to me

Hopefully the reeds will turn up soon get them fitted and see what happens from there
