correct way to install rear calipper?

so today at the track i notices something strange, the banjo bolt on the rear calipper rubs against the swingarm! surley this cant be rigth!? so i think the calipper is mounted wrong? but how do i correctly mount it?

it's pretty "cut-n-dry"...really no way of installing it wrong...



you could have some issues with things being worn out...or a slight chance something's bent.

looks the same but mine is closer to the swingarm, it has some play in it, ill try to post some pictures tomorrow

not just the banjo bolt, the mounting bolt rubbs against the swingarm too!

The caliper and the mount are suppose to float on two pins which is why you see those rubber parts between them.
The rubber acts like a spring.
Guys never service the pins so eventually they seize up or move very slowly.
Then bad things happen....

are the pins supposed to move? or just the caliper?

Pull the mount off the caliper and you will see how it works.

i think i found out the problem, MAJOR play in the slide that goes on the swingarm, so i hold up the calipper as i tigthen the axle nut, and now it seems like it's not riding to low anymore

Just a thought, you might want to use some air to push your caliper piston out and clean your seals really well...
It's amazing the difference it can make on brake performance.

i cant even reach the brake pedal, i migth need one with a bigger surface, i only use it a few rare times when im sitting on the bike before a corner

unfortunately that's only a temporary fix.

The swingarm wears out were the carrier sits , I get that area welded than grind and file back so the carrier slides back and forth nicely than the banjo bolt wont wear in to the swingarm  , as my caliper was showing signs of massive wear I bought a new 450 one and hose and fitted it , it a tad lighter and the banjo bolt is on top so it wont dig in the swingarm , this was on a 250 06 2t.

I've seen guys cut off rails/slides from other swingers and weld them on in replace of the bad one on the original swinger.
