The four stroke engine: That's one stroke for producing power and three for wearing the engine out.

last fall I tried the OEM 2010 KXF450 metal clutch plates in my 500...they wouldn't fit on my stock OEM hub. The part #'s are the same from '07 thru '14 for the 450...13089-1095, but they would not slide onto the hub, even with a little pressure.
I could've sworn Alex saying they worked on the K5 in another thread...unless I mis-understood him.
I just ended up going with the stock OEM K5 plates...and they slid right on as they were supposed to.

I've tread using a 12kxf450 Hinson set. Just does not fit. Spline, bolt, springs, its just a bit different.

I put KX500 plates in the KX450F basket and hub and it seemed to fit fine.
I didn't have any 450F plates to try it the other way..

I have done it both way with 450 to 500 and 500 to 450 and they worked the same, 2008 450 and 2000 K5

strange...since the part #'s for the 450's plates are the same from '07 thru '14, and maybe more years....but they didn't like my brand new OEM inner hub....no biggie, can't win em all.

i think you have to choose when ordering, 06-09 or 10-15 or something like that, wich migth suggest that the newer year is actully a bit diffrent

that's not what Alex's post said in the other thread....he had written '06-'11 were the same...I ordered 2010's.
not a huge deal...as I prefer the 500's OEM alloy plates.
the 450 plates I got were steels, and I wasn't thrilled about that to begin with...and I'm not shy about saying I despise steel plates...so it worked out for the better.

I don't like the aluminum plates, turns oil black and the aluminum dust they produce cycles through the hole engine and fade when they get hot.  I tried 3 different brands including OEM plates, so sorry it did not work out for u.
