Hello everyone,
Just logged in to your fantastic site. A lot of great info here! I am in the middle of trying to resurrect an 89 KX 500. Hasn't been ridden much but was left outside for a period of time before I got it. Cleaned out the fuel system and tried to start it and first kick it almost fired up but nothing after that. Has good spark & compression. I believe it is a carb problem. There was a mouse nest in the airbox and the urine had set in the back end of the carb and locked up the airscrew with corrosion. I was not able to clean that passage or turn the airscrew....thinking that might be my problem. Also the float pin hole was broken off on one side but I put the pin back thru the one hole and it seemed to keep the floats in adjustment at least to start it up. If anyone has a PWK 39 in good working order for sale I would be interested. Thanks Grant
