What other year bikes parts transfer over to a 1991 KX125?
« on: March 04, 2015, 07:17:49 AM »
Hello I am new to KXriders!
I'm sure there is a bunch of other threads on this kind of question but i was just wondering if anyone new what parts would carry over to the 91 from a newer year, Just becoming hard to even find OEM parts anymore. And another question can you put 2000s plastics on a 91 if anyone knows?

I don't have all the info for your bike but you can find a lot here:

http://www.oem-cycle.com/KX125KAWASAKIBIKEID.shtml

Scroll down and about a mile to the right  :-D
The four stroke engine: That's one stroke for producing power and three for wearing the engine out.

the short and logical answer....no, don't even bother trying.

you won't get the shrouds or side plates to work/fit...at least not in a manner so they look good.

front and rear fender, and front number plate will be about all you could do...but be prepared to do some modifying to the rear fender, and possibly the front number plate as well...if you do chose to attempt it.

this is what you're up against....and looking at it like this, makes it even more clear to not bother...see how the rear fender needs to blend with number plates on the '91?...a '00 rear fender would look bad...IMO.

'91...

'00...

Thank you for all the replies! And now that I do look at the bikes compared I think it would just be a good idea to make it look like a factory 91 bike.

atta boy! :-D....I'm a huge fan of keeping the "factory/OEM look".
the other way would've given it a severe ghetto look :-)
