Tools for kx125 rebuild
« on: December 28, 2014, 05:21:22 AM »
Hey everybody new to the forum and Kawasaki for that matter ! So I picked up an 05 kx125 for 500 bucks just needs a rebuild and a carb. My question to you guys is, what specialty tools will I need for a complete rebuild ? If you could give item numbers that would be awesome ! Also I did a search but couldn't find anything so I apoligize if this has already been discussed. Also if any body has a carb that would fit and wants to sell it let me know !

Hello and welcome to the forum.
If I were you I would get a Service manual for your bike, not a owners manual.
The Service manuals will often have special tool numbers and names.
Here is one example:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Kawasaki-Service-Workshop-Manual-2003-2004-2005-KX125-2003-2004-KX250-/141503996778?pt=Motors_Manuals_Literature&hash=item20f24ba36a&vxp=mtr

Then you can jump on FeeBay and get them often for a heavily discounted price.
The only special tool I can think of for a full rebuild is a flywheel puller.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Flywheel-Puller-Motorcycles-1968-2014-Honda-Kawasaki-Suzuki-Yamaha-/291262847241?pt=Motorcycles_Parts_Accessories&fits=Year%3A2005|Model%3AKX125&hash=item43d09e5909&vxp=mtr

Post pics of your bike so we can see your progress.
The four stroke engine: That's one stroke for producing power and three for wearing the engine out.

I don't know where there is any free copies as they are Copyrighted and publishers are a bit touchy about it but, for what you paid for that bike you can afford to spend a few bucks on one of the most beneficial tools for your bike

Then again, it's possible that there may be a member with manual they wouldn't mind letting you borrow... I guess we'll see...
