How do you know if you ignition timing is set right?
« on: October 17, 2014, 04:36:20 AM »
Hi,

So on a car you have a timing mark tab with numbers for your ignition timing and a line on the harmonic balancer.

On a bike (87 KX250) you have 3 lines in the stator plate, and a notch on the case, but no marks on the flywheel.

If you installed a stator without any marks, how would you set your timing?

If you use a timing light, what marks do you look at to see if your timing is set correctly?

I'm trying to see if my timing is set correctly.

dinky,

Dinky,

There should be a mark on the flywheel... Unsure about your year model though.
