As near as I can tell it does not remove anything.
Everything I have read about the process states that it peens the surface metal but does remove anything.
This process was developed originally in WWII for rebuilding soft metal air craft parts so it works great on aluminum, magnesium, brass, bronze, and copper but also works well on stainless steel and titanium.
If you need something done Brute, degrease it first and remove any plastics or glass.
