I've come across this site in the past on here....I see they've expanded their selection of items quite nicely, with quite reasonable prices...I'll be making some purchases in the near future...

Not done yet?
The four stroke engine: That's one stroke for producing power and three for wearing the engine out.

Their products do have a nice look, I'd like to see them sell a reproduction set of the 2000 graphics.

so here's the culprit...I bought this seat off e-bay a few weeks ago for a spare for $40.
it looked like just typical dirt and grime on it in the pics...I've cleaned many a seat with outstanding results over the years...but this one refuses to come clean!. It appears to have gotten some kind of overspray on it at some point. I've gone from warm soapy water, to as strong as acetone, and lacquer thinner...nothin!
I've always liked and preferred the 98-2000 seats, so I was happy to find these replacement covers at EVO.
I'll be pickin away at it throughout the day today between running errands.

I've got the initial start of it done....now it's gonna sit in the black f-150 with the windows up for a couple hours and marinate...direct sunlight will be on it in an hour.

Looking good.
Heating it up a bit works great!
As with all vinyls, leather, Naugahyde, and carpet.... Stretch the length first  :-)

yup, that's what the initial oven bake in the truck was for...roughly 115-120 degrees in there for about an hour....nice and pliable!

well it's pretty much done, just gotta throw the mounting brackets back on.

and now for the real test....to see if it still looks good once installed!

and it does!
the color is a bit off, but that's to be expected with an aftermarket cover...my other aftermarket cover was off too, but seemed to blend in better over time.
total time...including removing the old cover/staples, cleaning the snot outa the pan/preparation, and installing the new cover...was 1 hour and 45mins....
the key to seat covers is to KEEP it warm and pliable throughout the install, that's why putting it in a hot car/truck for a while works awesome, because the WHOLE seat gets warm, and the seat foam holds the heat for quite a while....I've watched guys struggle for hours and even days in some cases over the years because they don't KEEP them warm so they can stretch...which is also an easy way to tear/damage a brand new cover before it's even on!

Now it's on to more important things...drinking! :-D

So I shot EVO an e-mail last Friday, asking if there was any chance they would be producing some 2000 K5 shroud/tank decals anytime soon, since the only difference in the '99's and '00's was a color change.
The answer I got was...

"I'm sure we could change the purple to gold, the only problem as far as we are concerned is the fact that we can't print a metallic gold. Instead we do a close color match which looks very good, but without the metal flake effect. Give me your address and I'll ship out a small sample on our ThickStuff for you to compare.
Kind Regards, Frank"

So yesterday these fine samples showed up...

#1 is the closest...when I compare it to the OEM decal I have, #1 could be about 3 shades darker, and I think that would be perfect...so I shot him an e-mail back late yesterday stating just that. Hopefully Monday I'll get an answer if he can go a little darker, if not...#1 it is.
