« on: July 15, 2014, 03:29:50 PM »
some pics of the new project I think its a 85 125 going to fix her up for the wife to ride and i will use it as a second bike for fun

Shes a bit rough around the edges

But complete .   Will require a full rebuild still turns over but not much comp.
It will keep me busy for a while and I couldnt let her sit any longer so I offered 100 bucks and the owner said take her..

bikes apart now couldnt help myself the piston is shot and has no ring at all.  the cylinder looks good head has a small mark on it where something (ring) has hit .

The piston doesnt have a number just the arrow does that mean its stock?

more than likely you could probably run it through a hone real quick and call it good...providing it's within spec also.
otherwise, you'll have to have it bored.

what kind of piston are you planning on running...cast or forged?
forged will need .005 clearance between piston/cylinder.
where as cast can be tighter.

I highly recommend going with forged.

I figured it out you just have to go for it,  The shift  mechanism had been pulled out and in a tub i managed to find all the parts and put it in the way it looks in the book then the clutch back on and it all works,  every gear is their and the shifter even returns back to normal spot,  Happy days on to the next part
