help choosing a pipe
« on: May 27, 2014, 05:05:42 AM »
well i went to trevorton for the weekend and had had a great time climbing hills. but on my last trip out on the trails i was in a wheele and i hit a rock that turned me in to some trees. the crach looked really bad but i walked away with only some scratchs the bike took all the beating so i now need new handle bars and a new pipe. so anyone have advice on a pipe? i ride mostly woods but it has a lot of long open trails and i also like to climb hills. i was looking at the desert gnarly and woods gnarly. i had the woods gnarly before the crash. i read going to a desert gnarly from a woods is about 20% off the bottom and 40% on top. is 20% a lot off the bottom? will i be lacking low rpm power? i also seen the pro circuit how are they? any advice would be great i will be ordering a new one soon. i never know when i will get to go ride some more so i need my bike ready.

I think you'd be happy with either the FMF Desert or PC2....f**k the FMF Woods pipe, unless you never plan on getting out of 4th gear.
You will lose a touch of low end with one of the top-end pipes...but all you have to do is rub the clutch lever oh so gently, and it'll snap to life.
There's several threads on pipes...just use the "search" option at the upper left in the menu tab.
here's a couple threads I pulled quick...there's many more...

i  recently purchased a pc2 and in my opinion it is better than my stocker was everywhere. i run mostly trails and occasional wide open trails. don't think you would be disappointed.
