Wondering if it is possible to swap the caliper and master cylinder of my '89 KX125 with a newer model KX.  I'm thinking the master cylinder will be easier.. can I get a newer model caliper to go on the '89 (will the bold holes line up right)?

Is this a US or Canadian or European model?
If it is a US bike it should have conventional forks with 78mm caliper mounts.
If that is the case, then you can't use a newer caliper.
If it's Canadian or European with USD forks with a 60mm caliper mount then you could use up to 1993 calipers.
The four stroke engine: That's one stroke for producing power and three for wearing the engine out.

It's the US model.   I have a 88 roller but it has a single piston caliper.   So I guess 89's two-piston caliper was as good as it came.  My 89 project bike didn't come with any front brakes, and a 85 kx125 front wheel (with a penny used as a spacer for the smaller axle -  no s**t!).

its a little bit tricky, but possible and if you are talented to work with steel you could make easily an adapter for the 89-1993 nissin calipers to fit to the older bikes with conventional forks.  :-)

here you can see how i made this adapter for my 83 kx250 . the bike has 88 forklegs and a 91 nissin caliper mounted ...works great. much better as the tokico single piston caliper... :-D i used 6mm steel plate its the same dimension like the caliper holder on the tokico-brakes...

and preview pics of it:

and here you can see, how i did it again for my 87 kx250 , where i used the first adapter to made the second a little bit easier ...

Ok so the caliper is not easily swapped due to the fork leg.

Can I use a newer master cylinder?
