It's all in the sugar
The four stroke engine: That's one stroke for producing power and three for wearing the engine out.

I think I've emailed every seller of 89 KX125 used parts on Ebay asking if they happen to have power valves.  No Kaw dealer has one listed in stock (had a couple dealers check the dealer network tool).

Can this bike be run without a powervalve or how bad will it work if I put the broken one back in?   Feeling pretty disheartened about this project.   More so that I missed an auction for a NOS right side powervalve on Ebay last month.

Already called Kawasakipartsnation.. they don't have it.. like most sites that list it as available.. they have old/stale/outdated information but let people order the part anyway... then you wait 1-2 weeks to get the money refunded.

I'd check nosparts.se
They are out of Sweden and deal in nos kawasaki parts.
I've used them many times in the past for 80's kx's with great luck.
Guys name is Bjorn, send him and email with your part#.

I good machine shop should be able to replicate your old one. I would get a few sets made so you have spares.
It's hard to keep a drivers license riding a 2 stroke dirt bike on the street.  If you drive within the law they are VERY boring.

Talked to a large machine/gear fab shop in town today.  $1200 for ONE valve.  If I ordered 10+ it would be $400 each.

Also, ordered a 1989-1994 KDX200 RH EXHAUST VALVE (12005-1122, http://www.partzilla.com/parts/detail/kawasaki/KP-12005-1122.html).   Came in today.  I compared it to my 1989 KX125 NOS LH EXHAUST VALVE (12005-1113, http://www.partzilla.com/parts/detail/kawasaki/KP-12005-1113.html ) to check length ect.

No dice.

Bummer man...
Are you set up to get emails from ebay any time a exhaust valve for your bike shows up?

Yeah.  I scour the used parts too... found one a few weeks ago someone threw in a box of bolts.. it had the gear end showing.  Wrote to ask him to pull it out and check the pin.. broken off.    Kicking myself for not knowing I needed this d**n thing just a couple months ago.  One was on Ebay and sold for a little over 30 bucks, NOS too.

Would a 90-91 jug bolt on to the 89 bottom end?  If so I have more options.

I have a 89' jug on my 90' bottom end if that helps you.  I went thru the same deal you are a month ago.  I ended up buying the whole cylinder with valves off ebay for $50!  I was excited to say the least except it was sold to me as a 90' and showed up a 89' but it worked for me.
