See how close the container ship gets at high tide? The new container ships coming from oversees are getting taller, and won't fit under one of our bridges in the Port of Long Beach. My main project lately has been developing a drainage network for the replacement bridge that will filter the stormwater from the bridge and surrounding area before it enters the harbor.

From Febuary 25th this year,until today...I was on (F)un-employment,after being let go from a job I had been with for 21 years..due to ongoing political bulls**t.I had gotten that job not for what I knew,but who I knew.
For the last 3 1/2 weeks I've been frantically looking for another source of income that was close to equal to what I was making....not easy....until I found a listing for my local school department as a maintenence 2 Tech.So I threw in an application on-line.Two days later,I remembered that the Head maintenence guy of all Plymouth public schools lives 1/2mile down the street from me...rode the buses with his kids all through school.He offered me a Operations Assistant Management position at our brand new 227,000 sq/ft High school,for $22k more annualy....on top of what I was getting at my previous job!!
I feel like I've hit the lottery...in some way.
Again...I've proved to myself,it's all in who ya know...not blow!

I work for one of the largest industrial gas suppliers in the world, if you drink Coke or Pepsi, there's a 90% chance we supplied the CO2, if you drink Coors good chance we supplied the CO2. if you weld aluminum or use a Mig welder we may have made the Argon and Argon CO2 mix, if you have ever had ballons filled with Helium, yep good chance it came from us. I am an Area manager, my territory stretches from Canada to Texas noth to south and middle WA on the west and lubbock/Midland texas on the east.
